Thanksgiving

I love Thanksgiving as it serves the reminder to a focus on all we should be thankful for and gives us time with their our family and friends; however, it does not excuse how the Americans treated the Indians after their generosity.

While history likes to leave out this little detail, I want to personally remind all that Americans were not so kind to those that needed help when Andrew Jackson overrode the Supreme Court’s decision that led to the Trail of Tears. However, truth is truth even when history can easily be re-written by the victors!

However, like most things, the truth can be distorted one way or the other. In the end, remember to tell those you love that you love them and remember the spirit of kindness and selfless giving that represents the spirit in which, so long ago, the Indians provided without thought as it was just who they were.
